Click here to go to download the Palace client for you computer
type and then install it on your computer.

Click on the "go using your client" button below.
When the client software starts click on "stay a guest".

Under edit choose preferences.
Type in a screen name and put "new" at the end of it, for example "stargazer new", this way we know you are new to our chat.
In the box next to Home palace type: koko.chatserve.com in the first box and 9998 in the next one.
Next time you start palace you'll be taken automaticly to the matrix palace.
Click on OK if you're on a PC or on SET if you're on a mac.
You can also choose "connect to a palace" under the File menu and type in koko.chatserve.com

Once you are connected be patient, it will take a minute to download the background picture. |

To move in the room you just use your mouse to click on an empty spot. If you see you are ON someone else, move as soon as you can to an empty place. |

To go where the people are, under options choose find users. It will show the names of everyone on the site.
Click on the name of someone who is in the same room with several other people and press GO TO. It will take you to where the people are.

Now just click in the text box to type what you want to say and hit the enter/return key. Say Hi!
Sit back and watch for a minute. |

Give people time to respond. sometimes they aren't even at their computers at the time. |

Any conversation that you see you can join in on. If people dint
want you to join in, they would be whispering.
Just be respectful please.
The rule at the matrix is, if you show up 3 times you are a regular. You may not "click" the first time, but if you come back we'll probably remember you. |

Choose log window under options (or press control and L for windows or "Apple/command" and L for mac).

Want to wear an avatar (picture)??
They are in the little black suitcase at the bottom of the screen, click on the bag to open it then double click on a prop to wear it.
But there are many more (and less lame ones) in our "prop rooms".
Under options choose go to room.
Scroll down and you will see the list of prop rooms. Click on one and then hit the go to bottom.
Now hit the forward button, and you are dressed in an avatar.
When you find one you like and would like to keep, go to Avatars menu at the top of the screen and choose member avatars.
A window will pop up showing you on the left what you are wearing and on the right the spots you can save it to.
Select one of the avatar spots in the list in the center then choose save. You can repeat this and save the avatars to each of the available spots. Then to change an avatar you just select the one
you want and click the "wear" button.
NOTE: Changing often slows down (lags) other people in the room so don't change too often please. |
